Okmetic partaking in a 14 million euro project to boost Finland’s competitiveness in RF and antenna technologies
RF SAMPO, the leading ecosystem project of the Nokia Veturi program, is an industrial joint venture funded by Business Finland, Okmetic, nine other companies, and three research organizations. The total budget of the project is 14 million euros and it is coordinated by the University of Oulu.
The goal of the RF SAMPO project is to strengthen Finland’s competitiveness in radio frequency technologies, to speed up the development of RF and antenna technologies and to accelerate the transition from 5G to 6G. The project will investigate new RF solutions for 5G and 6G including antenna structures, integrated circuits, RF related architectures and algorithms. Through technological development, the project contributes to the creation of new jobs and new business opportunities.
Okmetic supplies the project with high resistivity RFSi® wafers, which enable faster data transfer and greater capacity in smartphones and communication devices. Okmetic has delivered over two million wafers for the RF market.
