CTO Atte Haapalinna giving a speech at European Microwave Week on 4 April 2022

Okmetic CTO Atte Haapalinna is giving a speech at European Microwave Week held in London on 4-6 April 2022. Dr. Haapalinna’s presentation titled “Engineered High Resistivity Silicon Substrates in IPD Technology Used for Miniaturized sub-6 GHz Filters” will take place on 4 April at 10-10.20 a.m. at Room 1 focusing on Novel Filtering Devices in Integrated Technologies.

The presentation is based on an academic paper co-written by Atte Haapalinna, Heikki Holmberg and Katja Parkkinen from Okmetic and Arto Hujanen, Pekka Rantakari, Janne Saijets and Tauno Vähä-Heikkilä from VTT Technical Research Center of Finland.

The presentation demonstrates the excellent linearity performance and low RF losses VTT’s IPD technology have achieved by using Okmetic’s Engineered High Resistivity wafers (RFSi®) with (“trap-rich”) passivation layer as a platform. VTT Technical Research Center of Finland has developed IPD manufacturing with Okmetic wafers since 2014. This co-operation has helped Okmetic to push the performance limits of its Engineered High Resistivity wafers to match the stringent requirements in the RF industry.
